Aujourd’hui, nous sommes le 1er mai !
Cela fait incroyablement… 22 ans que notre ami Ayrton Senna da Silva s’est tué lors du Grand Prix de St Marin, sur le circuit d’Imola.Dans cette terrible courbe de Tamburello…En ce dimanche 1er Mai et comme chaque année, comment ne pas avoir une pensée pour l’immense Champion, qu’était le pilote Brésilien.VINGT-DEUX ans se sont écoulés mais jamais, JAMAIS, nous ne l’avons oublié.La dernière fois que nous l’avons vu, c’était lorsqu’il était venu à Paris et que je lui avais présenté Julien Beltoise qui devait lui servir de chauffeur !Pourquoi ce choix ?Tout simplement parce qu’un jour, en discutant avec lui sur un podium, lorsque j’étais en charge du Protocole sur les Grands Prix de F1 auprès du Président de la FIA-FISA, Jean-Marie Balestre, Ayrton m’avait confié que l’une de ses idoles lorsqu’il était jeune n’était autre que… François Cevert ! Raison pour laquelle et pour lui faire plaisir, je lui avais choisi le propre neveu -Julien Beltoise- du grand Champion trop tôt disparu le samedi 6 Octobre 1973 au Glen, fils de sa sœur Jacqueline, mariée avec un autre grand pilote de l’époque, Jean-Pierre BeltoiseEn le raccompagnant quelques jours plus tard à l’aéroport de Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, je n’imaginais pas que je ne le reverrais plus jamais. Les mois ont passé. Les années se sont écoulées…22 ANS…Dans ma mémoire, c’était pourtant hier !En ce 1er mai 206, je me réveille avec une énorme émotion en repensant au passé.Et aux bons moments vécus, grâce à mon ami Mansour Ojjeh, le propriétaire de l’équipe McLaren qui m’invitait régulièrement à partager tant de moments forts dans l’intimité du Team, avec ses deux pilotes Alain Prost et Ayrton Senna à l’accompagner et à voyager fréquemment dans son jet ou son hélico.Ayrton n’est plus….Mais il est INOUBLIABLE !Et toujours bien présent dans nos mémoires.
